How to check printer status and print logs

The printer list shows if each printer is connected. The print log of each printer shows every print job and whether the job succeeded. Use both when a printer stops printing.

Check if a printer is connected

1. Go to Hardware → Printers.
2. Check the status next to each printer: connected or disconnected.

A disconnected printer does not receive print jobs. Check the power, the paper and the network connection of a disconnected printer.

Check the print log of a printer

The print log lists receipts, kitchen tickets and end-of-day reports sent to the printer, with the result and the time of each job.

1. Go to Hardware → Printers.
2. Open the printer.
3. Open the Print logs tab.
4. Find the job you are looking for and check the result.

If a printer does not print

1. Check that the printer is turned on and has paper.
2. Check that the printer shows as connected.
3. Check the print log for failed jobs.
4. Check that the printer is linked to the right registers and categories. See How to choose what each printer prints.
