How to set VAT rates and service charge

VAT rates are set once in settings and then chosen on each product. The service charge is an extra percentage added to bills.

Add a VAT rate

1. Go to the VAT % section in settings.
2. Enter a name for the rate, for example Standard or Reduced.
3. Enter the rate in percent.
4. Save.

Add one VAT rate for each rate you use, for example one for food and one for alcohol.

Choose a default VAT rate

The default VAT rate is set automatically on every new product.

1. Go to the VAT % section in settings.
2. Select the rate you want as default.
3. Save.

Product prices include VAT. Enter the price the guest pays.

Turn on a service charge

A service charge (in Italy also called coperto) is added automatically to bills.

1. Go to the Service charge section in settings.
2. Enter the name and the percentage or amount.
3. Turn the service charge on.
4. Save.

Remove the service charge from one bill

Staff can remove the service charge from a single bill during service, for example when a guest asks.
