How to set the kitchen mode and kitchen ticket labels
Choose how table orders are sent to the kitchen and change the Fire and Hold labels.
The kitchen mode decides how table orders are sent to the kitchen. The kitchen mode applies to the whole venue. A kitchen printer must be set up.
Kitchen modes
- Fire/Wait: Staff choose Hold or Fire for each item before sending. Use Fire/Wait to send courses to the kitchen one at a time.
- Automated fire: Every item is always sent as Fire. There is no Hold option.
In both modes, nothing is sent when an item is added to a bill. Staff tap Send after adding all items for a round. The kitchen receives one ticket per round.
Choose the kitchen mode
- Open the POS settings.
- Find Kitchen mode.
- Select Fire/Wait or Automated fire.
- Save.
The kitchen mode applies to all table orders. Different modes for different order types or categories are not available.

The labels for fired and held items are printed on kitchen tickets. Change the labels to match the language of your kitchen team.
- Go to Hardware → Printers.
- Open the kitchen printer settings.
- Edit the Fire & Hold labels.
- Save.
