How to create a manual invoice and record payments
Create an invoice outside the POS and keep track of what each customer has paid.
A manual invoice is an invoice you create directly, without a sale in the POS. Use a manual invoice for deposits, fees or services not sold through the POS.
Create a manual invoice
- Go to Invoices.
- Select Create manual invoice.
- Search for the customer, or create a new customer.
- Add the lines, amounts and any reference.
- Review the invoice.
- Confirm.
- Send or download the invoice.
Record a payment on an invoice
Each invoice has a balance that shows what is still owed.
- Go to Invoices → Invoice overview.
- Open the invoice.
- Record the payment.
- A partial payment lowers the balance. The invoice stays open.
- A full payment sets the balance to zero. The invoice is marked as paid.
- An overpayment makes the balance negative. The negative balance shows the amount paid too much.
Record new payments until the balance is zero.

The customer invoice summary shows the invoiced, outstanding and paid amounts for each customer.
Invoices in Italy and Norway
In Italy and Norway, invoices are sent to the tax authorities automatically when the invoice is issued. If the tax authorities reject an invoice, correct the details, for example the VAT number, and send the invoice again.
